Late one night while I was working, this tune came through the mail from Phil . I had a melody in my head immediately and the lyrics were lying around waiting for this tune – they fitted together perfectly. I sang it over the track and ten minutes later mailed it back to Phil. The next day we recorded it and the day after that performed it at our first gig for 30 years. My ex heard it and cried a little. Which was nice, in a way.

lyrics

Got my own imagination
And I keep it to myself.
Every night I go down to the river
And I look for you in there.

I go down to the river,
To the same place every night.
I see your reflection,
In the pale moonlight.

I… love you,
In the same way that I did.
What has gone is best left unimagined,
No more of this.

It’s just a little movie,
Hits the same spot every night.
He puts his loving arms around her,
And her soul turns cold with fright.
